A pottery factory was established here in 1767 by the Boch Brothers. In 1795 the owner was Pierre-Joseph Boch. Hard paste porcelain was made from 1806. The firm name in the 19th century was Villeroy & Boch (Mettlach). For additional marks see the Luxembourgh and Mettlach notices under Germany.
