This firm boûght up the Caughley Manufactory in 1799, Swansea in 1820, and Nantgarw in 1828. Many old pieces were unmarked. 1-3 Coalbrookdale. Marks used early in 19th century. 4 A little later than the above. Occasionally this mark is found encircled with the name, Daniell, London. 5 Used after 1828. The CSN stands for Caughley, Swansea, Nantgarw. 6,7 Early 19th century mark. 8,9 From 1891. This same mark with out "England" was adopted about 10 years earlier. 10 Imitation of the Chelsea mark. 11 Imitation of the Sevres mark. 12 Imitation of a Meissen mark. (See Caughley,2). 13 Coalbrookdale. From about 1850. Cobridge (1-18) A. Stevenson was working here before 1818. James Clews had a factory from 1818 to 1829. In 1836 W. Brownfield and others established works here. Other potters in 1843 include Francis Dillon. Elijah Jones, Stephen Hughes & Co., B. E. Godwin, J. M. and J. Godwin, John and Robert Godwin, G. and R. Leigh, and Coxon, Harding & Co. In 1900 there were the following: H. Alcock & Co., Banner & Co., Brownfield's Pottery, Ltd., Furnivals, Ltd., andPidduck, Ruston & Co. 1 J. & G. Alcock at Cobridge in 1843. 2 W. Brownfield. 1850-1871. 3 After 1871. Brownfield. 4,5 Until 1829. James Clews. 6,7 Stevenson. Before 1818. Succeeded by Clews. 8 Furnivals, Ltd., established about 1850.
