Obese people, people who are overweight, who seem to be inclined to be lazy, will lose considerable weight and have their energy rapidly restored by the faithful, constant application of the antisepticizing treatments, the dietary principles and other methods of this system.
Obese people respond nicely and satisfactorily to this therapy. Most obese people complain of the lack of energy. They appear chronically tired, prefer to sit a great deal. The mere use of the antisepticizing treatments instills new energy into these overweight people. Many state that after a treatment or two they feel as if they were walking on air. In conjunction with a strict diet, which need not be a starvation diet, but consist principally of simple, fresh and pure food of sufficient quantity to satisfy the appetite; this therapy will eventually restore these unusually stout people to quite normal weight. The more recent theories which attempt to explain overweight, maintain that ductless gland imbalance or deficiency (endocrine disturbances) is the causation of obesity. The antisepticizing treatments stimulate the secretions from the pituitary body which lies just above the roof of the nose; this accounts for the usefulness of the antisepticizing treatments in these cases. This explanation for obesity is not sufficient. Deficiency of oxygen intake, making it impossible to burn up the excess fat, and focal infection of the endocrine glands account for much of this disease.
When the upper respiratory passages are vigorously sprayed, the circulation of the pituitary gland is undoubtedly improved. The more recent theories of the ductless glands maintain that the pituitary body is the trigger or principal activating gland of all the ductless glands (the entire endocrine system). Thus in stimulating and improving the secretion of the pituitary gland, all the other ductless glands are benefited and therefore the body as a whole is helped. Other excellent reasons why the antisepticizing treatments help reduce over weight people are due to the fact that the oxygen intake is increased. This burns up much of the unnecessary fat and again the poisons (toxins) and infection from the nose and nasal sinuses are removed in considerable quantities by the sprays; focal infection is thereby controlled most effectively and to the greatest degree ; it is prevented from reaching the endocrine system.
It must not be forgotten that another reason why people get fat under overeating of food is explained by the theory that nature purposely piles up fat on these people so that the toxins or poisons of the bad food eaten can be neutralized by the fatty tissue of the body. This is a safeguard nature adopts. This is proven quite well in cases of poisons that affect the nervous system. It will be found that the fatty tissue of the nerves take up the poison before it reaches these nerves in order to protect them. Professor W. J. R. Camp of the University of Illinois College of Medicine brought out this fact as applying to the nerves.
