( Originally Published 1910 ) LORD ROSEBERY signalled a brief return to politics by a letter in The Times, in which he referred to the Budget of the Government as a Revolution. He followed this up with a speech at Glasgow on September loth, at a meeting of the business men of the city. He intimated that he could no longer follow the policy of the Government. His resignation of the position of president of the Liberal League followed as a matter of course. Since the Glasgow meeting Lord Rosebery has declined all invitations to take part in the Budget controversy. |
