Inositol

Little is known of the role of inositol in the nutrition of animals or man. Inositol has been administered in con-junction with other agents, in the therapy of several pathologic states, for example, chronic liver disease and muscular dystrophy, on postulates which have little factual support. The value of inositol in such situations remains unproved.
